I’ve been teaching Reiki for several years now and have come to know that there are some fundamental truths about those who seek out or come to find Reiki.
I'd say 95% of all that are drawn to Reiki instruction are at some sort of crossroads in their life and are searching for a deeper meaning to life. Both in the physical plane and the spiritual. All of them, including myself, seem to be empathic or highly sensitive to the energies of others. They are compassionate and have a high desire to remove the suffering and pain of those close to them. Many times to their own detriment, by failing to create healthy boundaries to varying degrees.
Many, because of this heightened sensitivity are psychic or highly intuitive or at least perceive that there is more to the world than the world of matter to matter or what we perceive with our 5 senses. Or at the very least, curious.
What I love about Reiki training is that it very firmly sets your feet upon an amazing journey if you choose. You start to have insights or more clarity regarding your path. You start to notice little serendipities, things start to show up in your life that are beyond mere circumstance. It’s really quite remarkable how this happens. You begin to see that nothing is just happenstance and that guidance is there if we choose it. New and interesting doorways and opportunities begin to appear. It’s as if veils are being lifted and I haven't even gotten to its healing aspects yet, which is the most amazing part.
In my own experience and through that of my amazingly and wonderful students, Reiki can heal just about anything short of death as long as the subject is willing and open. Because we all have free will, Reiki can never be forced upon anyone who is not open to it or ready for it. We all have our own individual path and Reiki is respectful of this fact. Also, while Reiki heals the subject in mind, body, emotions and spirit, the practitioner is also partially healed. So that the more you practice, the more you too will expand spiritually through the healing of others! Through the experience of healing others, you will naturally come to an understanding and compassion for others that is non-judgemental but at the same time, doesn’t give your own energy away. Reiki is all of this and much, much more! The words I use seem such a limited tool for describing how amazing this energy truly is!. What I describe here is just the tip of the iceberg, literally.
The true teaching of Reiki is free of all dogma and judgment and this keeps its energy pure and open to all regardless of race, religion, or other beliefs. So if any of this resonates with you, it is indeed something you should investigate!
